Bill 85 – An Act to establish two logistics hubs and an economic development corridor along Autoroute 30 and develop the industrial port zones in the Montreal metropolitan area.

By this Bill, particulary with the 5th article, the Quebec Government wants to confer to itself the power to allow a property included in the agricultural zone to be used for purposes other than agriculture, while exempting this use of the regulatory requirements of concerned municipal or MRC requirements or the Montreal Metropolitan Community.

The plans that accompanied this Bill showed a total area of approximately 400 hectares.

This way, the Quebec Government frees itself from applicable regulatory and administrative controls. Please note that it’s only a Bill which will be debated by the National Assembly in the next session of parliament.
